Wired Passive Monitoring

The real time passive monitoring of a wired internet LAN using a passive wire-tap. The Passive tap is introduced between the switch and gateway to monitor a LAN. This passive tap creates a permanent, in-line access port to monitor all full-duplex traffic without data stream interference.

Following are the properties of passive wire tap mode :

Target is known to be part of the network, but not well define.
Security or billing solution will have no impact on monitoring.
Scope of monitoring is limited to the traffic visibility over the link.
May require co-ordination with the network administrator.
